Jefferson County Farm Bureau is excited to announce that it will be sponsoring an Agriculture Educator’s Award again this year for Jefferson County teachers. Jefferson County Farm Bureau will select one pre-Kindergarten – 6th grade teacher to receive this award based on that teacher’s use of agriculture in their curriculum during the school year. This teacher will receive $250 for use toward agricultural materials for use in their classroom. The deadline to nominate a teacher is July 29, 2016.
Agriculture is an integral part of Jefferson County’s economy. Farm Bureau hopes to use this award as an opportunity to educate children about the food they eat and the impact agriculture has on the world, as well as to encourage teachers to educate students about agriculture.
