Growing our Generation: A next generation farm family

Spring planting has arrived and is a very busy time of year for our farm. Wrapping up anhydrous application, keeping the sprayer ahead of the planters, planting corn and beans and working cattle make for some long days. Currently, we are taking advantage of rainy weather to write to you.

We are Greg and Theresa Corcoran and we are 5th generation farmers and the youngest of a five-partner operation that includes Greg’s father and uncles. We raise soybeans, corn, popcorn, and beef cattle in Ross and Pike counties. I work full-time on the farm and Theresa works off the farm part-time as a physical therapist. We have three beautiful little girls. Julia is 6, Ellie just turned 4, and Lucia is 4 months old.

Theresa and I are first year members on the state YAP Committee and are currently helping line up speakers for our next winter conference. Every YAP event we have attended in the past has been awesome and we are excited to use the 2017 Winter Conference to continue “Cultivating Connections” in the ag community.
