Joe Parks of Thornville has joined Ohio Farm Bureau Federation’s field staff to help support county Farm Bureaus in their operations.
Parks was hired in anticipation of future staffing needs and is undergoing training by assisting Farm Bureaus in Coshocton, Knox, Licking, Morgan and Muskingum counties. He will help leaders strengthen county Farm Bureaus through program development and implementation and identify ways to serve members and their communities.
Previously, Parks worked as an educator for both Montana State University Extension and North Carolina Cooperative Extension. For two years he was an Ohio Farm Bureau intern, helping set up and run the Land and Living Exhibit at the state fair. He graduated from Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education.
Parks grew up on a hay, grain and livestock farm in Perry County and was involved with 4-H and FFA.
Ohio Farm Bureau is the state’s largest and most inclusive farm organization. Its mission is to forge a partnership between farmers and consumers.
