Fisher among Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame Inductees

The Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame has inducted dozens of notable Fair contributors since 1976, including Bob Evans, Dave Thomas of Wendy’s and the late Sen. George Voinovich. This year, a new group of Ohioans will become Fair legacies at the 40th annual Hall of Fame ceremony.

The Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame was established to recognize individuals who have made outstanding contributions toward making the Ohio State Fair one of America’s premier expositions. These inductees are chosen by the governor each year.

This year’s inductees are F. Joe Darst of Gahanna , Mark Ferrell of Jamestown, John C. “Jack” Fisher of Columbus, Elizabeth Ann Mumaw of New Philadelphia, Nevin Smith of Marysville and John Spreng Jr. of Bucyrus.

“It’s an honor to welcome this year’s Hall of Fame inductees,” said the Ohio State Fair’s General Manager, Virgil Strickler. “This diverse group has made significant contributions to agricultural education, youth organizations and our livestock shows. Their continued support and dedication makes the Ohio State Fair a top-tier event every year.”

The 40th annual Hall of Fame ceremony will take place during the Fair Aug. 5 at 12:30 pm in Cardinal Hall. Fisher will be inducted into the Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame the morning of Aug. 5. Story
