#TakeOverTuesday: Cold Springs Orchards, Ashtabula County

Every Tuesday an Ohio Farm Bureau member takes over the Ohio Farm Bureau Instagram for the day to share a day in their life. Check in throughout the day or follow us on Instagram, @OhioFarmBureau, to meet new Ohio farmers and ag professionals every #TakeOverTuesday.

Today’s editor is Sara Frank with Cold Springs Orchards.

Hello, my name is Sara Frank of Cold Springs Orchards in Rock Creek, Ohio for your #TakeOverTuesday. Cold Springs Orchards has been family owned and operated since 1928. It is currently run by my father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Lynn Frank, and my husband Daniel and I. We produce 30 kinds of apples, press our own cider, and run a farm market August to April on the orchard. This is a photo from when we were married in the blossoms in May 2015. — #TakeOverTuesday this week is with Sara Frank of Cold Springs Orchards in Ashtabula County. Our giant cold storage keeps the apples at a constant temperature around 35°F. Donald and his father built and insulated the giant storage themselves. It’s special design keeps the apples crisp and fresh through the winter til closing time in March or April. During the heavy harvest, the cold storage is packed full with little room to move around! — #TakeOverTuesday this week is with Sara Frank of Cold Springs Orchards in Ashtabula County.
