YAP Excellence in Ag, Outstanding Young Farmers Applications Now Available

An ideal applicant for the Excellence in Agriculture Award is an individual or couple who does not have the majority of his/her income subject to normal production risk. This application is designed to recognize those who are employed or heavily involved in the ag industry. Applicants may own and operate a farm but the majority of their income must come from off the farm.  Applicants should be involved in Farm Bureau and other ag organizations as well as in their community. The top three applicants will have a 25 minute presentation to a panel of three judges in September (5 minutes of that should be saved for Q/A).

  • A John Deere Gator courtesy of Farm Credit Mid America
  • $1,000 courtesy of Ohio Farm Bureau
  • An expense paid trip the American Farm Bureau Annual Convention January 2018 in Nashville

An ideal Outstanding Young Farmer (Achievement Award) applicant is a couple or individual involved in production agriculture with a majority of their income subject to normal production risks. Applicants should have ownership (or part ownership) of the operation/business. Applicants should be involved in Farm Bureau and other ag organizations as well as in their community. The top three applicants will have a 20 minute interview with a panel of three judges in September.

  • 250 hours use of a M-Series Kubota tractor courtesy of Kubota
  • $1,000 Grainger Gift Certificate
  • An expense paid trip the American Farm Bureau Annual Convention January 2018 in Nashville
