Read MoreIt’s Tuesday, which means I get to introduce another one of your board members! This week’s “Trustee Tuesday” is Mike Hannewald.
Mike grew up on his family’s farm in southwestern Lucas County, just outside of Waterville. Mike developed a strong interest in farming while growing up on the family farm and became very active in 4-H and FFA. Mike earned his bachelor’s degree in Agronomy from The Ohio State University. He now resides in Lucas County working for Beck’s Hybrids as an agronomist and precision farming adviser covering Ohio and eastern Michigan while being actively involved on the family farm.
Mike said, “My parents were very active in the Farm Bureau while I was growing up, and I benefited from many of Lucas County Farm Bureau’s programs, such as their support to the Lucas County Fair and their scholarship program.”
While in college, Mike was actively involved in the student organization, Collegiate Young Farmers. This organization worked very closely with the Ohio Farm Bureau in numerous projects which allowed him to see what the Farm Bureau was actually about. When given the opportunity to begin serving on the county board, Mike was excited about the opportunity to serve such a great organization. Mike said, “I have enjoyed the opportunity to serve on the board, and look forward to the remainder of my term.”
Thank you Mike, for all that you do for the Lucas County Farm Bureau board!
