Current Farm Bureau members throughout Ohio can receive free nitrate testing kits. Kits are limited to 25 per county and are available on a first-come, first-served basis to Farm Bureau members. The test kids will be sent to Heidelberg University’s National Center for Water Quality Research for nitrate analysis. Ohio Farm Bureau is paying for the cost of testing, which is $25 per sample. Members can receive additional testing for pesticides for $60 and testing for metals for $75. These fees need to be paid when the water tests are dropped off at the Farm Bureau Office. Please pay by check or have the correct amount of cash. Lab results typically take two to three weeks and will be mailed to homeowners.
Due to changes in the lab, the dates have changed. Pre-registration begins Jan. 15-Feb. 12.
Kit pick up will be available at the Farm Bureau Office, 100 Hopewell Ave., Tiffin, Ohio 44883 (red front building located on the Seneca County Fairgrounds) from March 12-15 from 7:30 am – 3:30 pm.
The guide includes a farm driver checklist, overview of state and federal regulations and exemptions, CDL qualifications and more.
