2017 Scholarship Winner – Bailey DeGroat

Meet one of the 2017 Montgomery County Farm Bureau Scholarship winners

Bailey is daughter of Amanda and Jason DeGroat, whom she lives with in Germantown, Ohio. Bailey was born and raised working on the farm, so it’s no surprise that her future plans are to major in animal science at Illinois Central College. She is a graduate of Valley View High School. She hopes to become an animal geneticist.

Bailey has been keen in participating in the following activities in high school: the Interact Club, Advisory Committee, and the Valley View FFA Chapter. Most of her leadership and community roles demonstrate her dedication to serving others. Bailey served as the treasurer, secretary, and vice president of the Happy Farmers 4-H Club, served as the secretary and president of the Valley View FFA Chapter, was a church youth leader, served on the Montgomery County Junior Fair board, and was a member of the OSIA LEAD Council during her time in high school.

Bailey is able to take time to focus on her scholastics and work experience. During school, she maintained a remarkable grade point average and earned the following scholastic distinctions: her State FFA Degree, the 2016 Best of the Buckeye, and became a member of the National Honor Society. Her hard work and determination during school and at the farm have granted Bailey the qualities of a deserving scholarship recipient.

Congratulations, Bailey! We are proud to support your educational endeavors. We wish you the best in the future.
