For our January feature farmer, we are introducing Kristen Baughman. Kristen has a three-acre farm located in southern Muskingum County. She raises a wide variety of vegetables using only natural production.
“I love the magic of placing a tiny seed in the dirt and helping it turn into a plant that will provide healthy food for others”. She farms on a small, yet diverse scale, placing emphasis on growing hard to find and heirloom vegetable varieties. Kristen never stops; in her off time she is already planning for her next season! She also has various part-time jobs to supplement her income. Sewing and knitting are some of Kristen’s favorite crafts.
Kristen said her biggest challenge is “I have to figure out how to grow my business with limited help due to my farm size.” Being a Farm Bureau member has been beneficial to Kristen because it has helped her make connections with other farmers in our community.
Thank you for your dedication to farming, Kristen. We enjoy having you as a Farm Bureau member!
