Free well water testing for Ohio Farm Bureau members

Ohio Farm Bureau values their members and also values your family’s well-being.

Water quality and clean water is one of our top priorities. We are fully committed to our members and are offering 25 free well water testing kits in each county.

It is recommended that wells be tested if they are more than 20 years old, were dug rather than drilled, are shallow, soil is sandy, a chemical spill happened nearby or are near landfills, croplands or industrial sites.

The testing kits will be sent to Heidelberg University’s National Center for Water Quality Research for nitrate analysis. Ohio Farm Bureau is paying the cost of the nitrate analysis, which is $25 per sample. Testing for pesticides and metals is available at an additional cost.

Free well water testing kits will be available for pickup at the county Farm Bureau office on March 26 between 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and samples need to be returned in early April. Lab results will be mailed to the homeowners.

Take advantage of this free kit and preregister now by clicking here.                 Registration ends Feb. 26, 2018.
