The FFA Agriscience Fair recognizes student researchers studying the application of agricultural scientific principles and emerging technologies in agricultural enterprises. Participants begin at the local level and from there move onto the state and/ or national level.
This year Emily Finley, from Northwestern FFA, completed her Agriscience Fair project titled “Psychological Correlation Between a Foods Color, Taste, and Flavor.” Her project looked at the correlation between the taste and flavor of a beverage (Sprite and milk) that had just been altered in color to see if participants tasted a flavor other than just plain milk and lemon-lime Sprite. To apply and qualify for the state contest, she had to complete her project and attach a research plan with data results and explain their impact and connection to agriculture.
She was selected as one of the top 10 finalists for the social science category and will be competing with her project during state convention May 3, 2018.
