Van Wert County Scholarship Recipients

The Van Wert County Farm Bureau awarded three scholarships to students in Van Wert County for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. Here are the three recipients of the scholarship and a few their accomplishments and future plans:

Haley Michaud

Haley will be a 2018 graduate of Crestview High School. Her parents are Brad and Annette Michaud. She plans to attend Ohio Northern University majoring in pharmacy. Haley is very involved in her school and community from playing high school sports, being a member of the Crestview FFA Chapter and FCCLA, student council and the National Honor Society. Haley is also one of Crestview’s valedictorians. Congratulations on your exceptional high school career and good luck with your future at Ohio Northern University, Haley!

 

Tara Louann Vorst

Tara is a 2015 graduate of Delphos Saint John’s High School. Her parents are Chris and Sandy Vorst. She is currently attending The Ohio State University studying food business management/agribusiness and is expected to graduate with a bachelor’s degree  in agriculture in May 2019. Tara is very involved at The Ohio State University. She is an active member of Sigma Alpha Professional Agricultural Sorority and the Saddle and Sirloin Club, she also participates in Agriculture Future of America, the student council of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences. Tara is also a chairman of the Young Leaders Conference. She even plans to go on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic to build homes for the homeless in June! Tara has been a Dean’s List Recipient at The Ohio State University for three semesters. Congratulations on all of your success at The Ohio State University and good luck with your future in agriculture, Tara!

 

Tristin Miller

Tristin will be a 2018 graduate of Lincolnview High School. His parents are Tim and Jackie Miller. Tristin plans to attend Wright State Lake Campus majoring in Agricultural Business. Tristin is very involved in the Lincolnview FFA chapter and has served as reporter and treasurer of his chapter. He also played basketball, was a member and served as treasurer of the Van Wert County Fairboard. He has received awards for being a scholar-athlete, a Star FFA award and even his Ohio FFA State Degree. Tristin also works at Pond Seed company along with helping his dad on their family farm. Congratulations on your excellent high school career and good luck with your future at Wright State Lake Campus, Tristin!
