The Darke County Farm Bureau is proud to award three $500 scholarships this year.

Kasey Hummel is the daughter of Don and Kim Hummel of Rossburg. She attends Wilmington College and majors in agronomy and ag business. Kasey is a member of the FFA, the Wilmington College Business Association and Collegiate Farm Bureau.

Molly Hunt is the daughter of Brian and Teresa Hunt of Greenville. Molly majors in earth sciences and youth development 4-H education at the Ohio State University. Molly is a junior adviser for Ohio 4-H Health Heroes, the founder of Clover Confidence BFF, and an undergraduate researcher at the School of Earth Sciences.

Olivia McDade is the daughter of James and Denice McDade of Greenville. Olivia attends the Wright State University Lake Campus and majors in agriculture. Olivia is a member of Collegiate Young Farmers, Ohio Corn and Wheat and is the Young Ag Professionals coordinator for Darke County Farm Bureau.

We would like to wish you luck in all your future endeavors. The sky’s the limit!

Labor has always been an issue, mainly because we are a seasonal operation. So that's a challenge finding somebody who only wants to work three months out of a year, sometimes up to six months.
