James M. Perrill, “JM”, is the the son of James Perrill and Cathy Williams. JM is a 2018 graduate of Miami Trace High School, an inductee in the National Honor Society and an active participant in the Vo-Ag and FFA program for 4 years.
JM served on the Agronomy, Soils, General Livestock and Grain & Merchandising judging teams. He was the District Chapter Winner in Crop Proficiency and also received his State FFA Degree in April 2017. JM is working on achieving his American FFA Degree as well. He was the FFA Land Lab Manager and recently served as their chapter’s vice president.
JM’s agriculture skills are continually put to use as he works at Patchwork Gardens, helps his dad on the farm and takes care of his 4-H animals preparing them for the county fair.
JM has been involved in painting pink ribbons for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, painting fire hydrants, collecting supplies for the local shelter and Humane Society and helping paint and clean the concession stand around the local baseball, softball and t-ball fields.
Being part of FFA has helped JM decide what he whats to do with his future. JM said, “There is always something new to learn in the agronomy field…always seems like new ideas and principles of farming are ever changing.”
JM will be attending Wilmington College in the fall and pursing a degree in agronomy.
