Every Tuesday an Ohio Farm Bureau member takes over the Ohio Farm Bureau Instagram for the day to share a day in their life. Check in throughout the day or follow us on Instagram, @OhioFarmBureau, to meet new Ohio farmers and ag professionals every #TakeOverTuesday.

Hello, all! We are Abby Pozderac and Haley Wilson with your #TakeOverTuesday. For the past five months, we have been working hard to plan the 2018 Land and Living Exhibit for the Ohio Farm Bureau. Think we look familiar? You may have seen us last year! This is our second year as lead interns in the Donahey Ag and Hort Building. Be sure to follow our #TakeOverTuesday to get some sneak peaks of the exhibit this year, as well as the planning process. — #TakeOverTuesday this week is the Ohio Farm Bureau State Fair interns. Mid-June, Abby and I were fortunate to have the chance to go on a study trip to Walt Disney World. While we were there, we visited the Living with the Land Exhibit and did the Behind the Seeds Tour. Here is a photo of Abby and I enjoying a hydroponically grown cucumber! . . . — #TakeOverTuesday this week is the Ohio Farm Bureau State Fair interns. The set-up process has many moving bits and pieces. As interns, we host four rounds of orientation for our ambassadors in order to prepare them to interact with 100,000+ fair goers. After orientation is over, we make sure the building is prepared for the start of the fair. This includes placing every sign, fern, artificial fruit, and simulator in their pre-determined spot. Here you can see our ambassadors setting up the grocery store and tractor simulator! — #TakeOverTuesday this week is the Ohio Farm Bureau State Fair interns. We have a full line-up of stage shows this year! From reptiles to butterflies to 500-pound squash, we are providing fair goers with family-centered entertainment four times a day. We have something to pique the interest of just about anyone who walks through our doors! Curious about which stage shows will be taking place during your visit? Check out our website to see the full schedule! . . . — #TakeOverTuesday this week is the Ohio Farm Bureau State Fair interns. Bunnies, puppies, and chicks, oh my! We strive to provide the public with a chance to see agriculture in action with our animal exhibits. We have chicks hatching daily, bunnies on display, and dogs looking for their fur-ever homes. . . . #TakeOverTuesday this week is the Ohio Farm Bureau State Fair interns. We love our ambassadors here at the fair! They work hard all fair long to provide a positive experience for the public. Throughout the day, you can see them conversing with fairgoers, caring for our furry friends, and helping youngsters “plant” corn on our tractor simulator. . . . #TakeOverTuesday this week is the Ohio Farm Bureau State Fair interns. Labor has always been an issue, mainly because we are a seasonal operation. So that's a challenge finding somebody who only wants to work three months out of a year, sometimes up to six months.

I appreciate the benefit of having a strong voice in my corner. The extras that are included in membership are wonderful, but I'm a member because of the positive impact to my local and state agricultural communities.

I see the value and need to be engaged in the community I live in, to be a part of the decision-making process and to volunteer with organizations that help make our community better.

Leadership development
Farm Bureau involvement has taught me how to grow my professional and leadership experience outside of the workforce and how to do that in a community-centric way.

With not growing up on a farm, I’d say I was a late bloomer to agriculture. I feel so fortunate that I found the agriculture industry. There are so many opportunities for growth.

Growing our Generation
Knowing that horticulture is under the agriculture umbrella and having Farm Bureau supporting horticulture like it does the rest of ag is very important.

If it wasn't for Farm Bureau, I personally, along with many others, would not have had the opportunity to meet with our representatives face to face in Washington.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
