Logan County Farm Bureau is excited to share its success from the first Logan County Agriculture Impact Fund Reverse Raffle which was held April 7, 2018. This project was designed to support and help enrich the agriculture impact on our county’s youth.

What an evening we had! In its first year, the county could not be more excited about how well the raffle went and the tremendous support we received from the community. The reverse raffle raised over $24,000 to establish the Logan County Agriculture Impact Fund. From the fund, grant opportunities will be available to organizations, clubs and groups that work in agriculture and youth development on new and innovative ways to grow agriculture’s footprint and expand youth involvement in agriculture initiatives in our county.

Attendees who purchased a reverse raffle ticket were entered to be eligible to win the grand prize draw of $5,000! Other ticket draws included a runner-up prize of $2,000, a third-place draw of $1,000, loser’s draw of $500, along with various other intermittent draws. Additionally, attendees took part in a live auction, lucky bucket drawing, 50/50 drawing, punch board and insurance board games. The live auction featured great items and experiences that were donated by many local businesses and featured the sale of the 300th ticket!

We would like to thank our wonderful sponsors who are listed below. Without their support and that of those who purchased tickets, the success of the event could have been possible.

Labor has always been an issue, mainly because we are a seasonal operation. So that's a challenge finding somebody who only wants to work three months out of a year, sometimes up to six months.

I appreciate the benefit of having a strong voice in my corner. The extras that are included in membership are wonderful, but I'm a member because of the positive impact to my local and state agricultural communities.

I see the value and need to be engaged in the community I live in, to be a part of the decision-making process and to volunteer with organizations that help make our community better.

Leadership development
Farm Bureau involvement has taught me how to grow my professional and leadership experience outside of the workforce and how to do that in a community-centric way.

With not growing up on a farm, I’d say I was a late bloomer to agriculture. I feel so fortunate that I found the agriculture industry. There are so many opportunities for growth.

Growing our Generation
Knowing that horticulture is under the agriculture umbrella and having Farm Bureau supporting horticulture like it does the rest of ag is very important.

If it wasn't for Farm Bureau, I personally, along with many others, would not have had the opportunity to meet with our representatives face to face in Washington.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
