Meet a 2018 Montgomery County Farm Bureau Scholarship Winner Mercedes Woodson

Mercedes Woodson of Farmersville is being awarded a Montgomery County Farm Bureau Scholarship to begin her college career. She is the daughter of George and Dana Woodson. Mercedes recently graduated from Valley View High School and plans to attend Morehead State University in the fall to double major in agriscience education and animal science to become an agriculture educator or a livestock embryologist.

Mercedes WoodsonMercedes has diligently worked on her academics and earned an outstanding  academic record. She has also been able to engross herself into organizations such as the Valley View FFA Chapter, National Honor Society, 4-H and the Montgomery County Junior Fair Board. Her true leadership experiences were enhanced during her time as an FFA officer, 4-H member and camp counselor, a Junior Fair Board officer, and as a part of the Montgomery County Junior Fair Court and as Beef Queen. Mercedes has always been involved in agriculture and plans to stay in the industry for the rest of her life by continuing to raise and show livestock. Congratulations, Mercedes!
