Hi there! My name is Ben Klick! I’m a 5th generation grain and cattle producer from Stark County, Ohio. I reside in Massillon, Ohio and farm full-time alongside my dad, Jim, and one of my best friends who works for us, Cole. Aside from the farm and cattle, we also have a small trucking company where we haul ag commodities for a few local feed mills and dairy farms. I look forward to showing you all a little bit about our operation and what we do! . . . TakeOverTuesday this week is with Ben Klick of Windy Way Farms in Stark County. Harvest ’18 is right around the corner! We are in full force getting equipment ready and finishing cleaning out bins to be ready to run the first of our crops in the next two weeks! We just shipped one of the first fall loads of fat cattle. We feed around 550 head of black cattle and Holstein steers and market them anywhere from Illinois to Michigan to Pennsylvania with a variety of different packing companies. We also sell a few locally to friends and family. . . . TakeOverTuesday this week is with Ben Klick of Windy Way Farms in Stark County. As well as farming, I also am quite involved with several different organizations including Stark County Farm Bureau, Stark County Cattleman’s and the Ohio Corn and Wheat Growers Association board. Here is a photo taken this past spring, as I met with and got to show Anthony Gonzalez around the farm and explain what happens on a day-to-day basis. Anthony is running for a congressional seat here in northeast Ohio’s 16th district. I believe it’s important to have a relationship with our local leaders and have them trust you with helping them on decisions involved in agriculture. . . . If it wasn't for Farm Bureau, I personally, along with many others, would not have had the opportunity to meet with our representatives face to face in Washington, D.C.
