Bob Burwinkel has been a member for 15 years and has been on and off the board for several years. He grew up on his family sweet corn farm where he has worked since his legs could reach the clutch pedal on the tractor. This year the farm celebrated its 100th year anniversary. This interest in agriculture pushed Bob to attend the Young Farmers DC trip. He truly thought it was an amazing experience so he decided to climb on board to the organization. Bob attended college for agriculture and construction mechanics to help with repairs and maintenance on the farm. In addition, Bob is married to Ashley, and they have two children, Cecilia and Henry, who are also beginning to show an interest in the agriculture and farm lifestyle. Aside from working on the farm, Bob works at Perfect North during the winter performing maintenance and repairs, snow-making, and operates equipment. Bob says that agriculture is not just a job, it’s a lifestyle. He grew invested in agriculture because it was where he earned his first paycheck, met his closest friends, and met his wife. Bob is certain that it is the best way to grow up and he hopes that everyone will learn and enjoy agriculture as much as him.
