On July 24, nearly 100 people attended the Crawford County Carcass Show held at Link’s Country Meats in Crestline. Dr. Lyda Garcia, from Ohio State, and members of the Ohio State Meat Judging Team, placed beef, pork, lamb and goat carcasses. These animals were exhibited at the county fair the previous week and included the Grand and Reserve Champions of each species. Winners received cash prizes.

Garcia explained to the guests how the carcasses were evaluated and emphasized the importance of marbling in beef and the percentage of saleable product in all species.
Link’s Country Meats, Crawford County Farm Bureau and Crawford County Cattlemen’s Association partnered on the event to make it possible for the youth of Crawford County.
