Overview:
Crawford County Farm Bureau is hiring Fair Ambassadors for the 2020 Crawford County Fair. This paid position will require Ambassadors to set up the displays, work each day scheduled of the fair and help tear down displays and activities. Total hours worked will not be in excess of 70 hours over the period of July 17-25, 2020.
Job Description
o To promote a positive image of Ohio agriculture at the Crawford County Fair and to provide a memorable experience for fairgoers
o Provide a family-friendly attraction that will generate positive conversations about the Crawford County Fair
o Instill a better understanding of modern agriculture in fairgoers
o Build relationships with Farm Bureau members and the non-farming public
o Collaborate with businesses and organizations who share similar attributes as Farm Bureau
o Present educational demonstrations to fairgoers (lesson plans will be provided)
o Answer fairgoers questions and serve as a host
o Cooperate with other interns to ensure the displays are well-staffed and well-supplied, the tent stays clean, and visitors are having a worthwhile and encouraging experience
o Work closely with county Farm Bureau members to carry out the Farm Bureau mission and display goals
o High school graduate preferred but not required
o Ability to take initiative and follow-through
o Good communication skills (written and oral)
o Self-motivated and willing to work independently
o Capable of working extended hours
o Broad knowledge of modern agriculture
o Familiar with Farm Bureau
o Hourly compensation at the rate of $8.70 per hour
o Farm Bureau shirts provided
o Relevant work experience and references to add to résumés
o Fair pass for each shift
o Meal stipend
