President Jerry Ebbert conducted the Belmont County Farm Bureau 2020 Annual Meeting of members on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at The Market at Ebbert Farms, St. Clairsville. At the meeting, the members voted on proposed policies and selected trustees for the board of trustees as well as delegates to the Ohio Farm Bureau 2021 Annual Meeting.
Policy issues included broadband, coyotes, and health issues.
Again this year was the inclusion of several area sponsors and displays which the approximate 100 Farm Bureau members and guests were able to view prior to the meeting. Belmont Soil and Water Conservation District and Captina Creek Watershed provided educational information. The Gold Sponsor was Ag Pro. The Silver Sponsors included Belmont Mills, D & J Sales & Service Inc., Kirke’s Homemade Ice Cream and Doan Ford Inc. The Bronze Sponsors were Pines Edge Farm, William Knox, CPA, Hixson/Malinowski Insurance Agency, Riesbeck’s Food Market and Milleson Insurance Agency.
Senior Organization Director, Betsy Anderson stated, “Farm Bureau depends on volunteers to accomplish our goals and policies. Belmont County is very blessed with dedicated people to serve on their board of trustees and as membership marketers.”
Programming for the evening was a report from the area local schools that use the backpack food donation program with Farm Bureau. These schools presenting included Barnesville, Bellaire, St. Clairsville and Union Local.
