Fairfield County Farm Bureau 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting results

The Fairfield County Virtual Annual Meeting took place Sept. 9, 2020. Proxy voting was conducted by mail and online poll. The following policies, delegates and trustees were approved by a voting majority of county members:

Fairfield County Farm Bureau 2020 County Policies

Local

  1. The Fairfield County Farm Bureau encourages fairground authorities to prohibit pets at the Fairfield County Fairgrounds for the biosecurity of livestock, and health and safety of humans. The county Farm Bureau supports the presence of service animals as defined under Title III of the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

State

  1. The Fairfield County Farm Bureau supports expanding meat processing, packing and cold storage for Ohio’s mid-size producers.
  1. The Fairfield County Farm Bureau supports the establishment of state and federal inspected mobile slaughter units.
  1. The Fairfield County Farm Bureau promotes making lifesaving technologies such as: Epi-pens, defibrillators and Narcan available to farmers and farm workers.
  1. The Fairfield County Farm Bureau encourages fairground authorities to prohibit pets at fairgrounds for the biosecurity of livestock, and health and safety of humans. The county Farm Bureau supports the presence of service animals as defined under Title III of the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

Federal

  1. The Fairfield County Farm Bureau encourages financial programs and support for infrastructure and equipment for small and specialty crop producers with the goal of strengthening the local food supply chain.
