2021 AFBF annual convention

The American Farm Bureau Annual Convention is virtual in 2021. This gives a unique opportunity for members to attend the meeting as well as observe the policy session.

Annual Convention only

Those who only want to attend the meeting and not the policy session can register themselves. Select “Virtual Annual Convention Registration.”

Policy Session observer

In order to observe the policy session Thursday, Jan. 14, members must register as an observer. Please complete this form by Friday, Dec. 18 and Amanda Bush at Ohio Farm Bureau will take care of your registration.

Those registering as an observer will receive three emails from AFBF:

  1. Registration confirmation email – You will receive this from the AFBF Convention registration system the day Amanda Bush registers you. It will be a confirmation that you are registered for both the virtual annual convention and the policy sessions. This email will include the username and password for only the Virtual Event Platform (general convention). Your username is your email and the password will be the registration ID number AFBF provides in the email.
  2. Virtual Annual Convention Login email – AFBF will send you the link to the virtual event platform Jan. 7, along with resending your username and password (in the same email) for the virtual annual convention.
  3. Policy Session Login email – You will receive a unique login and meeting specific password  from AFBF and a link to the policy meeting site. Further details will be coming soon.

Already registered, but want to observe policy session

If you have already registered and would like to be an observer, please forward confirmation already received to Amanda Bush and she will switch it to an observer registration, [email protected]

Log in details

The general convention log in will give you access to the agenda, workshops and opening/closing ceremonies (this includes the speakers). You will click the virtual platform link AFBF provides (Jan. 7) and then enter your login information to access them. These will be live events but will be recorded and available to you after the event.

The policy login will be different and specific to the session.

Here is a link to the schedule of events.

Labor has always been an issue, mainly because we are a seasonal operation. So that's a challenge finding somebody who only wants to work three months out of a year, sometimes up to six months.

I appreciate the benefit of having a strong voice in my corner. The extras that are included in membership are wonderful, but I'm a member because of the positive impact to my local and state agricultural communities.

Strong communities
I see the value and need to be engaged in the community I live in, to be a part of the decision-making process and to volunteer with organizations that help make our community better.

Leadership development
Farm Bureau involvement has taught me how to grow my professional and leadership experience outside of the workforce and how to do that in a community-centric way.

With not growing up on a farm, I’d say I was a late bloomer to agriculture. I feel so fortunate that I found the agriculture industry. There are so many opportunities for growth.

Growing our Generation
Knowing that horticulture is under the agriculture umbrella and having Farm Bureau supporting horticulture like it does the rest of ag is very important.

If it wasn't for Farm Bureau, I personally, along with many others, would not have had the opportunity to meet with our representatives face to face in Washington.

So many of the issues that OFBF and its members are advocating for are important to all Ohioans. I look at OFBF as an agricultural watchdog advocating for farmers and rural communities across Ohio.
