On Tuesday, May 10, the fourth graders from all the Gallia schools joined us at the fairgrounds for the 19th Annual Agriculture Awareness Day. Throughout the day the classes rotated through numerous stations presented by River Valley FFA, Gallia Academy FFA, South Gallia FFA, Gallia Soil and Water Conservation District, Bridgeport Equipment, Ohio State University- Gallia County, Shooting Aces 4-H Club/Gallia Conservation Club, Holzer Health System, Ohio Bee Association, United Producers Inc, Ohio Beef Council, and Bodimer Brothers Showpigs.
Prior to the event, all students were able to participate in a T-shirt drawing contest, where the winning drawing would be featured on the front of the T-shirt to go home with over 400 students and presenters. Jaycen Gleason of Hannan Trace Elementary won 1st place and was the featured drawing. Wesley Bodimer of Green Elementary was 2nd, and Honorable Mentions went to Gracie Martin of Hannan Trace and Layne Wright of Vinton Elementary. The students all enjoyed a day full of activities and learning about the various aspects of agriculture. We wish to thank all of the sponsors for making this day possible!
