The Highland County Farm Bureau took to the Farmer’s Market May 28 to connect with members and the community. The adults who came through the event really enjoyed conversation about the benefits and stance of the Highland County Farm Bureau. They also enjoyed taste testing the rhubarb crisp and many planned to use the recipe card to create their own. Additional recipe cards for roasted asparagus and sautéed eggplant were available for pickup. The children really enjoyed painting flower pots and planting flowers, as well as playing in the corn pit.
Organization Director Heather Utter, said, “The event was a good collaboration between the Highland County Farmers Market and the Highland County Farm Bureau. We really enjoyed the opportunity to connect with the local community to share more about what we are doing locally to support our farmers.”
