Gallia County holds 102nd Annual Meeting
Farm Bureau members passed a policy that would help the local governments to collect a fee or bond from timber harvesters to be used to correct damages to local roads due to timber harvest.
Read MoreOn Sept. 17, the Gallia County Soil & Water Conservation District and Gallia County Farm Bureau partnered together to host a mini meat cutting boot camp with special guest OSU Extension Meat Specialist, Dr. Lyda Garcia. Attendees received first hand training on how a pig carcass is cut into different primal cuts down to retail cuts. Dr. Garcia spent extra time working on each piece and discussing how each muscle could be cut differently and how it would change its name. Participants went home with a lot of information and even coolers full of meat!
