The Richland County Farm Bureau Young Agricultural Professionals (YAP) will be hosting Hops and Brew at the Phoenix Brewing Company Tuesday, July 23 at 6 p.m. The Phoenix is located at 131 N. Diamond St., in downtown Mansfield.

Ohio’s microbrewery and craft beer industry has expanded drastically in the past few years. Growing hops, a key ingredient in beer, has become a $30 million industry in Ohio, with more being demanded.

Hops and Brew will include a tour of the Phoenix Brewing Company and its brewery followed by a discussion about hop production with Knauss Hops. The Phoenix is a staple to downtown Mansfield. Located in the carousel district, the taproom is housed in a restored church. The tour will cover where and how they brew their beers.

The event is open to YAP, Farm Bureau members, and nonmembers from surrounding counties. Must be 21 to attend.

Hops and Brew will be free for members and $10 for nonmembers. Included with the event is pizza and a flight of beer.

To attend, please RSVP to [email protected] or call the office at (419) 747-7488. The event is open to the first 25 people.
