Please join Crawford County Farm Bureau to celebrate Farm Bureau’s Centennial at the Annual Meeting. If you have never been to the annual meeting, we encourage you to join us this year and learn more about what our organization is doing in the county and your community.

This year’s Annual Meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the Trillium Event Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. and dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. Dale Minyo will be our guest speaker. Everyone is welcome to attend and the cost is $10 for Farm Bureau members and $15 for non-members.

Tickets are available from any of the county Farm Bureau trustees, or call 800.327.6055 by Aug. 30 or click here to make reservations and pay at the door.

All active Crawford County Farm Bureau members are encouraged to attend. Please plan to attend and strengthen your voice on matters affecting your farm and life. We will be discussing and voting on the proposed policies, which direct our programs and activities for the upcoming year. We will also honor the following recipients: the new inductee of the Crawford County Hall of Fame, the Distinguished Service award winner, the 2019 Crawford County Farm Bureau Scholarship winners, and the newly elected Farm Bureau trustees for the upcoming year.

The policies of Farm Bureau are the backbone of the organization. They provide the framework through which we advocate for family, community and food security. They help guide efforts to address real community issues—issues such as regulations, funding public education and services, environmental protection, animal care, health care, landowner’s rights and community planning. These policies are used to develop programs, projects and advocacy at the state and federal level, but just as important, to help guide the yearly plan of work for county Farm Bureau volunteers. Trustees and delegates work to ensure these policies are put into action through county events and representation at the Ohio Farm Bureau Annual Meeting as well as in Columbus and Washington when legislators look at rural issues.

Are you ready to be more involved? Farm Bureau is a grassroots membership organization that works to support our state’s food and farm community. The county (local) Farm Bureau is the very heart and strength of the organization.
Crawford County Farm Bureau is seeking candidates for trustees to be elected at the Annual Meeting. Trustees are asked to attend board meetings, serve on committees with other volunteers and help direct the work of the county Farm Bureau.

Locally there are 16 trustees on the board – 12 elected by district and four at-large. Active Members or Young Active Members, or their spouses, whose dues are paid, are eligible for the office of trustee. All trustees must live, work or have an active agricultural interest in the county. All trustees elected by district must live, work, or have an active agricultural interest in said district. There are five seats up for election this year:
District 1 – Tod, Texas, Holmes, Bucyrus, Dallas
District 2 – Lykens, Chatfield, Cranberry
District 3 – Auburn, Liberty, Sand, Vernon, Jefferson
District 4 – Whetstone, Polk, Jackson
One At Large

If you are interested in making a difference in your community, planning activities, and organizing sessions to help local farmers, please let us know. Nominations can be made from the floor at the meeting.

If you can’t commit the time to be a trustee, we still have a spot for those willing to help! Volunteers are needed at different times throughout the year. You can volunteer for one particular event, participate in many areas or serve on committees. Contact the office at 800.327.6055 or [email protected] for more information on opportunities to volunteer. If you are interested in making a difference in your community, please let us know.

Remember, all Farm Bureau members and their families are invited to join us for this special event. Join your friends and neighbors for an evening of food, fun, and entertainment as we celebrate our organization’s successes. Everyone is welcome to attend and the cost is $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Tickets are available from any of your county Farm Bureau Trustees, or call 800.327.6055 by Aug. 30, or click here to make reservations and pay at the door.

We hope to see you there!
