ExploreAg introduces high school students to the various careers in science, engineering and technology in the food and fiber industry and engages them in actively pursuing career paths that can help them become a part of the sustainable future of agriculture.

ExploreAg is open to students from varied backgrounds, with diverse skills and interests, and provides them with an opportunity to explore and understand available career paths in the agriculture and food industries. ExploreAg programs are free.

The goal is that a student’s time at ExploreAg will lead them to discover a passion they may not have considered yet.

In addition to the June 2021 weeklong camps, there are weekend mini camps:

Sept. 10-12 – University of Findlay
Sept. 24-26 – Hocking College (Focus: entrepreneurship)

These one-of-a-kind STEM camps will engage students in the various careers in science, engineering and technology in the food, fuel, and fiber industry that will
be needed to face our world’s challenges. Through hands-on tours and activities in state-of-the-art laboratories, campers will get a unique look at what careers in STEM can entail. Days will be filled with learning from the top agricultural science companies and researchers at some of Ohio’s major colleges and universities.

Campers will have the opportunity to network with leaders in the industry while gaining a new perspective on the variety of careers available to them in Ohio related to food, fuel, and fiber production. At the end of each day, counselors will lead the students in leadership development activities and programs to show them how to prepare for college and their future careers.

Students will be challenged through various activities to discuss current scientific issues facing Ohio and the world. Daily activities will engage them as they critically think through such issues.
