Guernsey County Farm Bureau will hold its annual pork chop dinner Friday, April 15. Tickets for the dinner are available from any board member, Nationwide Insurance offices of Gene Moore and Cambridge Insurance Group in Cambridge or contact the Farm Bureau office at 740-425-3681. Tickets are advance sale only and the deadline for purchase is Friday, April 8. Menu includes grilled pork chops, green beans, applesauce, rolls, beverage and Broughton’s ice cream for $8 for Farm Bureau members and $10 for non-members.

Again this year, a silent auction with numerous items to be bid on will take place with the dinner. All proceeds from the silent auction will go into the Guernsey County Farm Bureau Scholarship Fund, which is presented each year to a county member’s child in the amount of $500. Two scholarships will be awarded.

Also this year will be displays by area agencies such as Nationwide Insurance, Ag & County agencies and Farm Bureau member businesses. These information tables will be available throughout the dinner and several plan to offer door prizes.

The Safety Seminar will be held at 6 p.m. for those interested.  All members who participate in Workers’ Compensation Group Rating with Farm Bureau are encouraged to attend.

Member benefit information will be showcased as well, with signage available to all paid members to post their property with the $2,500 Reward program. Joseph “Grizz” Smith, president of Guernsey County Farm Bureau, encourages all members to post their property. Smith said,” With the increase in criminal activity in our county it is important to take all of the precautions we can, especially in our rural areas.”

Please plan to stop by and pick up your signs at the dinner. The $2,500 reward can be paid to both Farm Bureau members and non-members for providing information leading to the arrest and conviction for arson, malicious injury to property, burglary or other felonies committed on a member’s property when the $2,500 reward is posted. It is also paid for the arrest and conviction of persons stealing a member’s car, truck, tractor or other self propelled equipment off of their property.

Please contact the Farm Bureau office to purchase tickets at 740-425-3681 or any of the above mentioned outlets.
