The annual Empty Bowls by the Lake fundraiser is an artistic means to fight hunger in our communities.

Potters, educators, students and volunteers create handcrafted bowls. Local restaurants donate soup. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread and, in exchange for a cash donation, are asked to keep a bowl as a reminder of all the ‘empty bowls’ in the world.

A $20 donation will include one pottery bowl and unlimited soup and bread. Children who accompany a $20 donor may participate in the event for a reduced donation of $5 for ages 6-12 and free for 5 and under.  (The reduced donation includes soup and bread, but does not include a pottery bowl.)

The event will include live entertainment featuring the Avon Electric Orchestra and singer Brittany Davidson and a silent auction/raffle with opportunities to win such items as a Vitamix, Cavs tickets, ‘Put- in-Bay for a Day’ package, Nalu SUP group lessons, and works created by local artists. All proceeds benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio and local community resource services.

EBBTL is looking for volunteers, sponsors, and for items or activities for the silent auction. To help or for more information, visit Empty Bowls by the Lake online or on Facebook.
