You are invited to Lorain County Farm Bureau’s Pasture to Plate Experience at the beautiful Ziegler’s Barn and Stables!

Come join us for a night of great local food, drinks and company. Appetizers will be designed and prepared by local cooking instructor and entrepreneur, Marcia Depalma of Laurel Run Cooking School.

Following the social hour, local guest chef, Al Ives, the Chef de Cuisine at Ristorante Chinato, will prepare a delectable assortment of dishes using only the freshest locally grown and raised products.

Proceeds will benefit the Friends of Lorain County Jr Fair.

Schedule:
5:30 – 6:30 p.m. – Social hour with appetizers, wine and drinks.
6:30 p.m. – Dinner is served

About the food:
Nearly all of the food and wine for this event was grown or raised in Lorain County, with all products coming from sources within Ohio. Not only do we want to serve you great tasting local foods, but we want you to feel connected to what you are eating. Many of the farmers that provided the ingredients will be at the event eating along with you and we will provide information on how you can get and use these local ingredients on your own. This will definitely be a value added experience!

About the chef:
Al’s journey began at an early age in a locally owned restaurant where he worked as a waiter. That exposure led him to the Lorain County Joint Vocational School and studies in their School of Culinary Arts. From there, he attended the Culinary Institute of America (Hyde Park, NY), graduating in 2006 with an associate’s degree. While at the CIA, he interned at the four-star Lake Placid Lodge in New York. There, he helped with the preparation and presentation of upscale American cuisine featuring farm-fresh local produce and products and came to appreciate the importance of the farm-to-table concept, an appreciation he pursued while working with world class chefs at the famous Chef’s Garden, Huron. It was there that Ives refined and perfected his skills that he was later to apply at food preparation and menu creativity at Parallax, Zack Bruell’s restaurant in Tremont. Several of the menu items reflect Ives’s personal touch and creativity.

Tickets may be purchased online.
