Whether it’s because of Ohio Forest Tax Law, Current Agricultural Use Value, or just mature woods ready to be harvested, many landowners are considering logging their woods in the upcoming years. Navigating a timber harvest and understanding your responsibilities can be difficult.

The 2022 Woodland Wednesdays series continues with a program that will help you understand your role. “Logging Laws for Landowners” will review applicable laws, best management practices to include in your contract and real world issues to anticipate.  Featured speaker is Nathan Paskey, district manager of Ashtabula Soil & Water Conservation District and secretary/treasurer of the Northeast Ohio Loggers Chapter.

This is an in-person program taking place at the Ashtabula SWCD office, 39 Wall Street, Jefferson, OH 44047. The program is free, but registration is limited and required by Oct. 18.  Register online or contact Ashtabula SWCD at [email protected] or 440-576-4946.

Collaborators include Natural Resources Conservation Service, Geauga, Lake, Ashtabula, Portage, and Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Division of Forestry, Farm Bureau, and Holden Forests and Gardens.
