Francis Farms/Alpaca Corner - John, Mary & Sally Francis

Francis Farms    (Alpaca Corner)

John, Mary & Sally Francis

Shandon, OH  45063

Nestled in the southeastern corner of Morgan Township lies Alpaca Corner, home to 18 registered huacaya alpacas.  Alpaca Corner was chosen as the farm name because it is located at the crossroads of St. Rt. 126 and Morgan-Ross Road in Butler County. John Francis and his daughters Mary and Sally tend to the alpaca livestock each day.

The Francis family began their alpaca journey in the spring of 2003 after visiting alpaca farms and attending alpaca shows for several years.

John is now retired from a career that included teaching vocational agriculture, farming, farm equipment dealer and banking.  Mary and Sally manage The Periwinkle House at Shandon.  It is an antique and gift shop that now specializes in alpaca products.  Mary also teaches Title 1 Kindergarten reading at Elda Elementary in the Ross School district.

Through this diary, during the month of April, you will be reading quite a bit concerning the “happenings” that keep us busy with the alpacas. This will be a busy month as we will host a church group and also prepare for shearing the alpacas.
