To honor the versatile zucchini there will be a zucchini cook-off and growing and decorating contests; as well as the 1st Annual Zucchini Idol Talent contest Saturday afternoon! Auditions for the Zucchini Idol contest will be held Saturday, Aug. 9 in the Chardon Library from noon to 4:30 p.m. There is a $10 entry fee.
Proceeds from this event go to benefit the capital campaign for the Emerald Fields of Troy, a planned $4 million facility serving people impaired with mental disorders—depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, pain disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorders.
