Tuscarawas County Farm Bureau is partnering with OSU Extension for its second annual BBQ Bootcamp and Burnoff. The festivities begin Friday with a chance to meet the BBQ teams and interact with a variety of BBQ-related vendors. Both days include music, family fun activities and a corn hole tournament, plus raffles to win BBQ equipment. The Bootcamp kicks off at 1 p.m. Saturday, offering BBQ educational sessions. Food and BBQ retail vendors will be available all day.
Don’t miss the April 1 early entry deadline to sign up a BBQ team. The first 24 teams are guaranteed to compete. Burnoff categories are chicken, pork, pork ribs and beef brisket. See the event website or call the office for the official rules. More than $4,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to competitors. Money raised at the event will benefit Community Hospice.
Cost: Free admission; People’s Choice BBQ Competition tasting participation – $10
