We look forward to your attendance to have an enjoyable evening while also voting on important issues and policy resolutions, new county trustees and Ohio Farm Bureau delegates. Impact your community by guiding local activities and state events!
The policies of Farm Bureau are the backbone of the organization. They provide the framework through which we advocate for family, community and food security. They help guide efforts to address real community issues—issues such as regulations, funding public education and services, environmental protection, animal care, health care, landowner’s rights and community planning. These policies are used to develop programs, projects and advocacy at the state and federal level, but just as important, to help guide the yearly plan of work for county Farm Bureau volunteers. Trustees and delegates work to ensure these policies are put into action through county events and representation at the Ohio Farm Bureau Annual Meeting as well as in Columbus and Washington when legislators look at rural issues.
Are you ready to be more involved? Farm Bureau is a grassroots membership organization that works to support our state’s food and farm community. The county (local) Farm Bureau is the very heart and strength of the organization.
Richland County Farm Bureau is seeking candidates for trustees to be elected at the annual meeting. Trustees are asked to attend board meetings, serve on committees with other volunteers and help direct the work of the county Farm Bureau.
Locally there are 12 trustees on the board – six elected by district and six at-large. Active Members or Young Active Members, or their spouses, whose dues are paid, are eligible for the office of trustee. All trustees must live, work, or have an active agricultural interest in the county. All trustees elected by district must live, work, or have an active agricultural interest in said district. There are five seats up for election this year:
- District 1 – Perry, Jefferson, Worthington
- District 2 – Troy, Washington, Monroe
- District 4 – Sandusky, Springfield, Sharon
- District 6 – Blooming Grove, Butler, Franklin
- One At Large trustee
If you are interested in making a difference in your community, planning activities, and organizing sessions to help local farmers, please let us know. Nominations can be made from the floor at the meeting.
If you can’t commit the time to be a trustee, we still have a spot for those willing to help! Volunteers are needed at different times throughout the year. You can volunteer for one particular event, participate in many areas or serve on committees. Contact the office at 800.327.6055 or [email protected] for more information on opportunities to volunteer. If you are interested in making a difference in your community, please let us know.
Remember, all Farm Bureau members and their families are invited to join us for this special event. Join your friends and neighbors for an evening of food, fun, and entertainment as we celebrate our organization’s successes.
