Souper Heroes is pleased to announce a new partnership with Columbus-area farmers markets. Dubbed Citywide Soups, the partnership and event celebrates the end of the summer growing season and is the foundation for even broader participation with farmers markets across the central Ohio region in the coming year.
Souper Heroes will provide homemade soups from volunteer participants and freshly baked bread from Dan the Baker at the Clintonville Farmers’ Market (located along the west side of North High Street at Dunedin Road between Orchard Lane and Torrence Road) and the Worthington Famers Market (located in downtown Olde Worthington). The events will benefit The Clintonville Beechwold Resource Center and Worthington Resource Pantry.
As with all Souper Heroes events, there’s no cover charge and everyone is invited to sample the offerings. At the end of the buffet, there’s an empty slow cooker for collecting donations destined for a local community organization dedicated to ending hunger in Ohio.
Since its inception in 2012, Souper Heroes (formerly Columbus Soup & Bread) has hosted 19 soup and bread events at five different venues around the city with more than 100 participants cooking up just as many varieties of soups and stews. The combined events have raised more than $8,600 for hunger relief organizations in central Ohio and helped provide food and support for thousands in need.
