With the help of generous donors, the Belmont County Farm Bureau School Backpack Program was able to exceed the goal of $40,000 and raised over $43,000. This amount will provide 23,888 meals to be used by four schools in Belmont County that expressed a need.
Now Farm Bureau needs help to package the meals. The packaging event is Saturday, July 20, starting at 1 p.m., at Union Local High School Gymnasium, 66779 Belmont Morristown Rd., Belmont, Ohio 43718. Packing will begin at 1 p.m. and continue until all the meals have been packed. Approximately 200 volunteers are needed and the goal is to be done by 8 p.m. All individuals and groups are welcome to come and participate at the packaging event. There will be various jobs and all help is appreciated. This will be an amazing and life changing opportunity to help hungry kids have a hot meal to eat. Feel free to come anytime and stay as long as you wish.
