Rep. Robert Sprague invites you to meet Ohio Department of Agriculture Interim Director Dr. Tony Forshey and Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board Executive Director Michael Bailey to learn about Ohio’s new livestock care standards.
The livestock care standards, which became effective Sept. 29, 2011, apply to anyone raising cattle, poultry, swine, sheep, goats, llamas or alpacas for food or fiber and for anyone raising horses in the state of Ohio. The standards govern all aspects of animal care including feed, water, housing, equipment, management, transportation, health and humane euthanasia.
Due to the broad-sweeping nature of these new rules, farmers are encouraged to attend this informational session to learn about the new regulations and how they will be enforced.
R.S.V.P. to Megan @ 614-466-3819. Assorted light refreshments will be provided.
