Due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19, Northeast Counties Farm Bureau has POSTPONED our worker’s compensation safety meetings until further notice.
————————————————————————————————————-
Contrary to the popular image of fresh air and peaceful surroundings, a farm is not a hazard-free work setting. Every year, thousands of farmworkers are injured and hundreds more die in farming accidents. According to the National Safety Council, agriculture is the most hazardous industry in the nation.
Each year the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation sponsors educational programs dealing with safety in the agriculture workplace. These programs are important for all Farm Bureau members and workers’ compensation employers in the group rating program – large and small.
One very important aspect of reducing workers’ compensation premiums, and to protect our Farm Bureau members, is to reduce the number of claims/accidents we have each year. This can be accomplished by every member doing his/her part to ensure a safe working environment for all employees. To help make these safety seminars more accessible to you, many county Farm Bureaus are sponsoring local meetings. Your county Farm Bureaus are hosting the following ag safety meetings:
- Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hall in Orwell
