Karen Bakies, nutrition affairs director, American Dairy Association (ADA) Mideast, will discuss hot topics and trends in food and nutrition. The event is hosted by CIFT at the Agricultural Incubator Foundation (AIF).
While consumer interest in food and nutrition is at an all-time high, so is consumer confusion. It is not just consumption of food, but consumption of information about food that drives market changes and the desire to have reliable sources. Nutrition, agriculture and sustainability are no longer separate conversations but rather a continuum from how food is produced to what the nutrition label means and food’s journey to the table.
On behalf of dairy farmers, ADA Mideast provides timely, science-based nutrition information to, and in collaboration with, a variety of stakeholders committed to fostering a healthier society, including educators, school nutrition directors, health professionals, academia, industry, consumers and media. The staff is comprised of registered dietitians, school wellness specialists, and marketing and communications experts dedicated to educating the public about dairy foods’ important role in a healthy lifestyle.
Arrive early, as breakfast and informal networking will start at 8 a.m., with the program to follow. The cost is $10 per person with advanced registration, or $12 per person at the door (cash or check) which includes breakfast and networking opportunities.
The Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum is an educational networking opportunity to provide information on current issues, trends and programs available to the agricultural community and those who support its advancement.
