Organic products will be the featured topic at them monthly breakfast forum. The event is hosted by the Center for Innovative Food Technology (CIFT) at the Agricultural Incubator Foundation (AIF).
Organic agriculture is one of the fastest-growing, more relevant segments in the industry. Eric Pawlowski, sustainable agriculture educator, Ohio Ecological Food and Farm Association, will discuss organic production methods as an alternative and profitable strategy for growers. He will also cover market opportunities, constraints and how to achieve regionally and nationally recognized certifications.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), approximately 25,000 farms and businesses are certified, generating sales of nearly $35 billion in organic products.
Arrive early, as breakfast and informal networking will start at 8 a.m., with the program to follow. The cost is just $10 per person (cash or check at the door) which includes breakfast and networking opportunities.
