Learn how the northwest Ohio regional food bank goes beyond distribution of food, and implements innovative approaches to teaching recipients how to utilize food items. Mindy Rapp, operations manager, SeaGate Food Bank, will also explain how through the Eat Right Academy, youth are encouraged to make healthy choices, fresh produce is grown on-site and distributed to veterans weekly, and new parents are provided the resources and knowledge to make food for their children that is healthy and affordable. The mobile market is the primary way in which some seniors gain access to fresh produce. The programs instill creative approaches to a challenging issue facing so many.
The SeaGate Food Bank is especially unique, as it never charges for its services.
Arrive early, as breakfast and informal networking will start at 8 a.m., with the program to follow. The cost is just $10 per person (cash or check at the door) which includes breakfast and networking opportunities.
The Northwest Ohio Ag-Business Breakfast Forum is an educational networking opportunity to provide information on current issues, trends and programs available to the agricultural community and those who support its advancement.
