Montgomery Soil & Water Conservation District’s 2016 Pond Clinic is focused on helping residents learn the information needed to keep ponds a source of enjoyment, not concern.
The event will being with a picnic style dinner, sponsored by Brubaker Grain and Chemical, Inc. Matt Zehringer of The Lake Doctors, will discuss the Zika virus and answer pond questions. Dr. Eugene Braig IV of Ohio State University will discuss harmful algal blooms (HABs), the recent blooms of cyanobacteria that are usually called “blue-green algae,” and ways to determine if a pond is affected. Shawn Murphy of Michael Murphy Insurance will give an update on new Pond Liability issues, and Scott Elliot from Sanco Industries will talk about ways to keep a pond in great shape. Technicians from the Montgomery SWCD will also be on hand to talk about how they can assist with current or future ponds.
This FREE, family friendly event is co-sponsored by the Montgomery and Preble Soil & Water Conservation Districts. The pond clinic is held rain or shine and is open to everyone.
