Weurfulville Suburban Farmstead 7051 Weurful Drive, Canal Winchester, OH
This tour will take place at Weurfulville Suburban Farmstead and is part of the Columbus Urban Farm Tour Series. Teresa Gottier of Weurfulville Suburban Farmstead farms a small yard using all possible space by growing vertically in containers and raised beds. While transitioning the yard from ornamentals to all edibles over the last several years, a variety of vegetables, herbs, berries and fruit trees have been incorporated into the landscape. See how Gottier is extending the growing season through the use of low tunnels and a mini-greenhouse. Learn how her yields have steadily increased, enabling the micro-farm to produce enough food to feed the family year-round with surplus to sell to the neighbors.
Ohio State University’s Extension’s Franklin County office is sponsoring the series with the Columbus Urban Farmers Network. The tour is free and doesn’t require sign-up ahead of time.
