Williams on State Farm Bureau Policy Development Committee

COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – Tim Williams of Piketon is serving as a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation’s (OFBF) 2013 policy development committee. The committee collects and organizes policy recommendations from county Farm Bureaus and presents the final policy suggestions to be voted on by OFBF’s delegate body at the annual meeting in December.
The committee’s first meeting allowed members to hear background and participate in discussions about several priority issues. Top items on the agenda included nutrients and water quality, state and local tax policy, wildlife issues, developments at Ohio State University’s College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and priority issues at the Ohio Department of Agriculture.
The committee is made up of 12 members of OFBF’s state board of trustees plus 10 representatives of county Farm Bureaus. Williams is a state trustee representing District 21.
Ohio Farm Bureau is the state’s most inclusive farm organization. Its mission is to forge a partnership between farmers and consumers.
