COLUMBUS, Ohio (OFBF) – The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF) has announced the appointment of Beth Vanderkooi as director of state policy. She will help the Ohio Farm Bureau represent its members at the Ohio Statehouse and with others in state government.
Vanderkooi has spent the past six years as a legislative aide in the office of State Senator Tim Grendell, R-Chesterland, and also during his time as a state representative. She has worked on a number of issues important to Farm Bureau members, including eminent domain and private property rights. She was raised on a small farm in Bellville and holds a bachelor’s degree as an Ashbrook Scholar from Ashland University, where she studied political science, economics and international studies.
"Beth knows the legislative process very well, and she has a sincere desire to serve Ohio Farm Bureau members," said Keith Stimpert, OFBF senior vice president of public policy.
Ohio Farm Bureau is the state's largest general farm organization, representing the interests of more than 234,000 members including more than 60,000 Ohio farm families. At its recent annual meeting, OFBF celebrated its 90th anniversary of serving Ohio agriculture.
Vanderkooi will join the OFBF staff effective Dec. 22.
